Midsummer Harvest
The Midsummer Harvest tea blend includes organically grown herbs that have been used medicinally, for culinary purposes and as aromatics for centuries. Everything about this herbal tea blend is a statement of healthy living.
The herb peppermint is best known for brewing a gentle tea to aid in digestion or to soothe an upset stomach. Peppermint lends itself complimentary to the other herbs that it is blended with in the Midsummer Harvest tea.
The rose is best known for its large variety and lovely scents. Rose flowers and petals have been used in tea to reduce fevers and inflammation, to reduce the symptoms of cold and flu, to cleanse toxins from the body and for purification. In addition, the rose is thought to increase the body’s natural immunity and has been used for other numerous medicinal purposes.
The herb lemon verbena has a strong lemon flavor and scent (hence the name). Lemon verbena is grown in gardens throughout the tropics and Europe but is native to Argentina and Chile. The medicinal properties of lemon verbena are reputed to aid digestion, to reduce fevers, to relieve stress and as an anti-spasmodic and expectorant. Singularly, lemon verbena as a tea is considered to be soothing and relaxing.
One of the most widely used herbs, sage, is thought to benefit the brain, nerves, eyes and glands. Fresh sage also contains appreciable amounts of Vitamins A and C and is considered an herb for longevity and good health.
As a blend, this herbal tea is not only good for you but is a pleasure to drink hot or cold anytime and anywhere. It is also a comforting beverage for colds and flu. Large tin: 1.5 oz/42g; Small tin: 1 0z/28g.
To prepare: For a cup add approximately a tablespoon of tea to a mesh ball and add fresh filtered water that has been heated to just under a boil. Let the tea steep for 3 - 4 minutes covered by a tea towel or napkin then sit back and enjoy! For a cold or flu try adding honey, lemon, and a shot of bourbon.
